CPRI Help for Users
Welcome to "Common Property Resource Institutions Database & Online Information and Interaction System.
This is small help which would guide you to use
the system effectively
The system support following features:
Search (Search in any field in database, also Boolean Search "search
string")
Advance Search (Searches in fields Author, Title, Publisher, Type of institution, Country, Region, all Fields)
Share New Case (Anyone can share CPRI cases, which would be added to a separate database, added
to the online searchable database only after cleared by CPRI Database Administrator)
Search for References (Search would look into online SRISTI Library
Information System "SLIS" database for references related to Common property Resource Institutions)
Published Papers of Prof. Anil K Gupta & others on CPR (Search would
explore and list all the papers & publications by Prof. Anil K Gupta and Other Colleagues
at SRISTI having reference on Common Property resources in our Papers &
Publications Database)
List of all Institutions in CPRI Database (A list of all CPR Institutions in the database)
Feedback (Provides feedback to the CPRI Database Administrator)
Help (for helping to navigate you in using the system effectively, in
case of problems write to us at cpri@sristi.org)
The Interactive components of the system are:
Feedback on each case, reflects along with the case while displaying a particular
case
Mailing list on each case (The mailing list for each case could be monitored by the CPRI Database Administrator, requirement of such a facility is to create a community around a topic which it could identify itself with and could keep each other informed)
Discussion group on each case (to initiate dialogue on a case and form a community presenting its views and adding value)
The reason for having this interactive component is to create a dynamic online community, which could share its inputs on various cases listed in CPRI database from across the world. The ways
in which these communities had over the time sustained these institutions for managing there natural resources provides lessons for sharing and sustaining resources for the whole world. Discussions and interaction could form community around a case and may add value as well as lead to development of models for sustainable development.
The system has been envisioned to be self monitored, without any moderator required for any groups, however a CPRI Database Administrator
would maintain the mailing list for different cases and keep the community informed on the development.
How would the system work in short?
Step- 1: CPRI Database Administrator could compile the discussion and develop a summary to be posted on the mailing list
periodically for each case.
Step- 2: An administrator module allows the CPRI Database Administrator to post the compiled summary, notes, messages, and alerts to the community on the mailing list of particular cases as also to all listed in all the cases.
Step- 3: Any feedback, help could be provided by writing to cpri@sristi.org,
which shall be forwarded to the CPRI Database Administrator
