First UK 'shodh yatra' - a journey of exploration

date posted: Tuesday 17th April 2007

On the 11th October 2007, Professor Anil Gupta of the India Institute of Management and Founder of the Honey Bee Network, will lead the first ever UK shodh yatra, from Middlesborough to Newcastle in the North East of England.

A shodh yatra is a journey of exploration, where like-minded individuals walk together, sharing thoughts and discussing new ideas. Our purpose will be to seek out and honour those creative individuals and communities that are working to improve our lives. They are the grassroots innovators, the inventors and entrepreneurs, who despite their lack of resources are developing innovative new solutions to the problems around them. The Honey Bee Network has organised many similar events in India, and through their endeavours helped unearth hundreds of new ideas and innovations. We aim to do the same here in the UK.

The journey will begin on the 11th October and end in Newcastle on the 16th October at an event that will form part of the www.dott07.com festival.
