SRISTI - IIMACORE School Children Education Rehabilitation Project:

SRISTI and IIMA-CORE initiated relief work on the very next day of the earthquake. The very next day collection center at IIMA started functioning and goods have been deployed at interior villages. For effective distribution, need-assessment survey undertaken with the help of IIMA faculty, students and SRISTI volunteers. Read More....

My work involved visiting the villages and seeing how much of an impact the efforts of SRISTI had made there. I’m no educationist but most of us have this innate ability to distinguish between what is right, what we think is right and what is not quite right. I would prefer to address the efforts of SRISTI in specific terms as in “A SRISTI school in a village” rather than SRISTI schools in villages, as each village has its own not so wonderful set of oddities and peculiarities.  Read more...

This destruction could not deter the spirit: Gram Swarajya Sangh

A small Gandhian Institute "Gram Swarajaya Seva Sangh" in Lilpar village showed the way for the dazed population of Rapar. Situated in Rapar Taluka of district Kutch, though itself reduced to a heap of rubble and stones the Institutes residents got together their spirit under the leadership of its Director Mr. Ramesh Bhai Sangvi. The institute putting aside its own rebuilding efforts purged itself into helping the adjoining areas severely affected by the quake. Read more...
