HBN Innovators get Padma Shri
We are proud to share that today four people associated with the Honey Bee Network have been awarded the Padma Shri. Two technological innovators and two social innovators. Chintankindi Mallesham who reduced the drudgery of several women making the pochampalli saree as well as Genabhai Patel who transformed the fortunes of farmers in a dry region with pomegranate cultivation used technology to affect social change. On the other hand, environmental warriors like Balbir Singh ji Seechewal and Daripalli Ramaiah have championed the causes of clean rivers and planting trees respectively. We hope this recognition will inspire many more people to find solutions to the problems of the society. Incidentally, Genabhai, Ramaiah and Balbir Singh ji are also past winners of the SRISTI Samman.
