SRISTI welcomes all the participants of the 28th shodh yatra in Mizoram. The participants who have not paid the registration amount are requested to do so at the earliest. The participants who have already paid are requested to email us the scanned copy of the receipt urgently. Those who may not be in a position to pay now but would be doing so before the start of the Shodh yatra may communicate the same in writing.

Kindly refer below for some important instructions/information for the shodh yatra:

  • 2 passport size photos and an identity proof in original (driving license, voter ID card, passport or any government issued valid I - Card) to be carried by all the participants
  • Participants are requested to travel light and bring only as much luggage, which you can handle by yourself.
  • Warm clothes and sleeping gear has to be brought by the participant as it will not be provided
  • Items which will be difficult to manage are not to be carried
  • Only postpaid mobile connections of Aircel and Reliance will work
  • Only those who will be able to endure the extensive walking should come and anyone with any health problems should not come
  • It is expected that during the shodh yatra, the participants will not walk with their friends/ known people, the objective of this walk is to get to know other people and learn from them
  • No waste material like food packets/ wrappers/polythene is to be littered in the jungles, villages or the places where we rest/sleep. If participants are carrying any such thing, they are expected to dispose it off at the designated place or carry back to be disposed off later.
  • Closed bathroom/washroom facility is not available
  • Sometimes due to unforeseen reasons, food may be delayed, kindly bear all this in mind. Also, the participants may themselves be required to prepare food in case of unavailability of cooks or any other reason.
  • Please carry a torch and extra batteries
  • Please carry your own plates, glasses, spoons/ forks, water bottles, mosquito creams, important medicines etc
  • Also please note that despite all preparations and planning, sometimes due to circumstances not in our hand, schedule etc may change.

     

If we keep everything in mind, Shodh Yatra would be a good learning experience for all. How to live with minimal resources is something we will all learn.
