how much do contradictions in the lives of leaders matter?

  in an interesting article, aakar patel has raised several issues about the mettle of which leaders are made up of. It is a worthy cause. but then gandhi had once said of mayo, who write a book finding out all that is wrong in india. he said, it is a sanitary inspector's report. she came to find filth in india, she found enough of it. I am all for showing hypocrisy of leaders, for that matter any one, i included. But then will that paint a complete portrait of a person?

  why cant every school mobilise students to map urban and rural biodiversity in this monsoon season. children will learn, we will learn about what is missing, what is new and movement fo species due to climatic or other factors would also become apparent. early indicators of what is happening to our soil, air, and habitats will also become obvious. who will take the next step, sristi will support them.

  one does not meet create woman like Lassiben every day. Chetan and komal , colleagues at sristi.org have documented the story of Lassi ben and her experiments in sustainable agriculture. so much so that her husbands also acknowledges that she is a better farmer.

  home stay is a good idea in not only Dadndi but alos elsewhere, sikkim has developed it well and it could become a very good decentralised model of hosting tourists of different kinds. However, soem discussiosn with hosts may be necessary to ingrain them into some basics of Gandhian philosophy just to make breakfast discussions more meaningful. I do not expect that all hosts need necessarily subscribe to Gandhian philosophy

  when large numbers of salt workers do not have assurance of regular supply of fresh drinking water, when their children can not get the quality of education they deserve , should not a memorial of Gandhi making salt have some bearing on the life of the salt workers?

rains are here, but not water harvesting!!

  why do we forget the mission of rain water harvesting when rains come? when will civic authorities will rise to the occasion and do some thing concrete about it? This is one case, where optimal coercion is not zero.
