Brief description and salient features of technology

The shrinking land and the increasing cost of cultivation is affecting the mere survival of small and marginal farmers. Bhanjibhai was surprised to see that despite the reduction in size of the land holdings, the market is flooded with the high power large-sized tractors suitable for large holdings. As they are highly priced, they are beyond the reach of most farmers. He felt that the farmers need a small machine that would not only conserve energy but would be affordable by all .The idea got translated into a three-wheel that was cheap, made of locally available parts and was appreciated by all. Bhanjibhai and his nephew have covered a fair distance since then.

Bhanjibhai felt that a much smaller machine could perform most of the operations carried out by a tractor. He decided on a three-wheel tractor powered by a 12.5 HP engine. The three wheels would make it cost effective and provide improved maneuverability making it ideal for small farmers. The design was kept simple making it possible for the farmer himself to do the repairs. Bhanjibhai also designed and manufactured a 4-wheel tractor with the same engine.

  2. Machinery / Equipment:
     The production of Small 10 Hp tractor can be carried out in well set up workshop having facility of lathe machine, press machine, milling machine, welding machine, advanced drill machine, hexaw machine, cutting machine , spary gun , compressor and other normal machinery & tools require for normal fabrication work.
  3. Status of technology (Not Commercialized / commercialized / in production:

    4. The technology is yet to commercialized. Innovator has made a prototype to be sent to CFMT & TI ( Budhni ) for certification and testing purpose. The trial production will be started at innovator’s place very soon after completion of the testing part.

    Minimum Economic Unit: 100 Units per year

    Total Investment: Rs. 70,00,000/-

    (Rs Seventy Lakhs Only)

    The total investment does not include technology cost. Technology cost will be linked with the geographical area in which the entrepreneur is interested for commercialization of the technology. However, cost of the technology for the state of Andhra Pradesh has been calculated, which comes to Rs. 18,00,000 only (Rs. Eighteen Lacs only). Please see attached sheet for detailed calculations.

    We offer the technology by two ways i.e. Exclusive and Non-exclusive rights of manufacturing and marketing against the monetary gain in form of one time down payment basis. The amount is depending upon the geographical boundaries like district or state level basis. The offer would be given to the interested entrepreneurs after personal interview and consultation with him. GIAN would act as a nodal agency for technology transfer right from negotiation to the final agreement and its follow up.

    Calculations in the attached sheet represent cost of the technology only for the state of Andhra Pradesh. Different alternatives of payment mechanism can be explored through negotiations with mutual understanding. Technology cost can be paid through down payment only or it can be a combination of down payment and royalty.

  2. Technology demonstration cum training facility

    Demonstration of the technology can be organized at innovator’s place with prior appointment. After entering into the agreement for technology transfer, training facility for the manufacturing the product can be organized by GIAN either at the innovators or entrepreneur location as per the mutual understanding.

    The product is very well accepted by the farmers in the market. The product has very good demand from all over the INDIA as well as international market. .

    The Small 10 Hp tractor can be marketed to the target customers directly or through the dealer – distributor network. Agriculture and Rural Development Department of the state government may provide helps in market development by providing subsidy and bank  loan facility.

    9. Price

    The price of the Small 10 Hp tractor will be round about 160000/-. The price doesn’t include the sales tax and the excise as applicable as per the rules.

  9. Terms and condition for technology transfer

The financial offer may vary for different regions depending upon the prevailing market situation and interest of the party. We would send the financial offer to the party after after consulting the party through the mode of personal interview or through other means of communication. However our General Terms & Conditions are as under.

  • All the payment for transfer of technology is to be paid through the cheque / Demand draft in lieu of the right to commercialize the product within the area allocated as per the agreement.
  • The purchaser will have no right to sell the product other than specific territory allocated as per the agreement.
  • The purchaser will have no right to transfer the technology to any sub party.
  • The agreement will last for five (5) years and after five years it has to be renewed for.
  • The agreement will be a legal document on 60 Rs. Stamp paper.

  • Complete production drawing to manufacture the product
  • Total assistance by the innovator to reach to a stage of commercial production
